 What is the Independent-Minded Teacher Forum All About?

At our summertime Independent-Minded Teachers Forum events, teachers from the Denver metro area gather to meet other likeminded professionals, to discuss relevant education policy issues and teaching concerns, and - of course - to enjoy the refreshments. The event is an opportunity for our Education Policy Center staff to hear from teachers, and for teachers to learn about what we're doing. Some of the topics discussed by independent-minded teachers have included:

• CSAPs, testing, and accountability
• Curriculum issues
• Teachers unions and other professional teacher organizations
• Vouchers, tax credits, and other school choice reforms
• Parental responsibility
• School funding
• Promoting quality teaching and quality teachers
